Wandsworth council is thrilled to be sponsoring the Social Worker of the Year awards – a celebration of exceptional social work practice. Covid-19 and the events of the last 18 months have been majorly disruptive to the childhoods of millions. Providing children with the support required to thrive and reach their potential has never been more important than it is now.
Excellent frontline social worker practitioners transform lives every day. The disproportionate effect of the pandemic has made life so much harder for many families and social workers have been critical human connections that have supported and stood alongside vulnerable people in these testing times. We are a proud employer of committed and dedicated social workers who, every day, go the extra mile to give their service to their communities.
Social work doesn’t seek the limelight. Our entire profession is built on harnessing the inner resources and strengths of the people we serve. For this reason, we are not only proud to be sponsoring the children’s social worker of the year award but want to shine the brightest spotlight on social work and social workers for this event. Our congratulations extend to everyone who has been honoured this year.
