Social Work Awards seeks Young Trustee
Would you like to be part of a team who celebrates the work social workers do? Would you like to meet new people and learn new skills?
Social Work Awards, the charity behind the annual Social Worker of the Year Awards event, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic young person to join its Board of Trustees.
The Trustees are the people who share responsibility for overseeing the annual Social Worker of the Year Awards celebration event and directing how the charity is managed and run.
Commitment to your role and the charity is a really important part of being a trustee. You will be required to attend at least three to four meetings each year (most of our meetings now happen virtually), the Social Worker of the Year Awards ceremony in November, and the winners’ parliamentary reception which is held each March.
This is a hugely rewarding role which will provide the opportunity to further develop your skills and broaden your network by working with a passionate group of people to shape and support the work of the charity.
We have just begun planning for a virtual ‘thank you’ event for social workers, which will reflect and recognise the extraordinary work of social workers across England during Covid-19. Following on from this, 2021 will be a special year as the charity celebrates its 10th anniversary.
If you are aged 18 – 25 and ready to contribute your enthusiasm and ideas to the Social Worker of the Year Awards we would love to hear from you.
