Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides health and wellbeing services for the whole of Lancashire and South Cumbria with a population of around 1.8 million people.
The services provided include community nursing, health visiting and a range of therapy services. Wellbeing services provided include smoking cessation and healthy lifestyle services. The Trust specialises in secure, perinatal, inpatient and community mental health and learning disability services, including services for children and young people.
Care and support is provided in a range of settings. Service provision is delivered to meet the physical and mental health needs of the local population.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. The Trust directly employs over 220 social workers and is the largest NHS Trust employer of social workers within the UK.
