Coventry City Council
Coventry City Council Children’s Services has been on a journey of improvement over the past 7 years and was judged as good in June 2022. This has been the result of significant financial and political investment in Children’s Services as a whole and in innovative ways of working which enabled children, young people and families to remain at the heart of everything that we do, despite national challenges to resources and recruitment across the sector.
The Ofsted judgement is evidence of improvement in outcomes for children and young people in Coventry, but the feedback received also highlights the involvement of individuals and services in Coventry which make a difference every day.
Partnership working is strong in Coventry. This has enabled a joined-up approach across local partners to ensure that children and young people receive the right help at the right time. Coventry relies on a number of innovative approaches to working with families from community engagement in the Family Hubs to a nationally acclaimed Local Offer for care leavers. It is this legacy of improvement and innovation which promotes the best outcomes for children and young people.
