Sammie Critchley
Sammie Critchley has worked within social care for over 11 years, beginning her career in Special Educational Needs Colleges before moving on to work as a Social Care Officer within Adult Social Care at a local authority. After three years of study, Sammie graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University earlier this year with a degree in Social Work. She is now a Social Worker at Wigan Council. Speaking about her career, Sammie said "I have always wanted to work within the Social Work sector on account of growing up with a younger brother with autism, learning difficulties and complex health conditions. My childhood exposed me to how stressful certain situations could be for individuals with learning disabilities and the families/carers that support them. Ever since then, I have wanted to do whatever I can do help make this easier for people."
