Jessica Beach has worked within adult social care for 14 years, starting her career as a carer in a residential care home for older people, alongside studying for a social work degree at the University of Gloucestershire.
Throughout her career, Jess has worked in community adult social work and specialist safeguarding roles both within Local Authority and NHS settings and has become a qualified Best Interest Assessor. She has also held a number of management and strategic roles, with her most current position being as a Principal Social Worker for Adult Social Care.
Jess is passionate about practice education and enjoys mentoring and supporting the new generation of social workers. Remaining connected to practice has been extremely important to Jess and has enabled her to understand what the realities of practice are in order to be better placed to think creatively whilst putting people at the centre of her work.
Jess is immensely proud to be a social worker and feels that the awards are a great opportunity for social workers to showcase what they do, share examples of excellent practice, and most importantly raise the profile of social work.
