Coventry City Council is proud to sponsor University of the Year as part of the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2022.

Universities play a critical role in workforce planning for the profession and the relationships with universities are critical if Social Workers are to be “ready for practice” and continually develop their careers, particularly in an environment which is requiring increased levels of practice innovation.

As a Local Authority, we have worked with universities to influence our award-winning Social Work Academy alongside the regional work of the West Midlands Teaching Partnership. We value and recognise the role of Higher Education Institutions in growing the Social Work profession through continuous professional development
