Brighton and Hove City Council
A huge Thank You to all social workers
Brighton & Hove City Council is very proud to be a ‘Thank You’ sponsor at this year’s awards ceremony.
Our adult and children’s services have teams of extremely dedicated and hardworking social workers who make a real difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people and families in our community.
To all our tremendous staff we say a huge Thank You. We will continue to build a system that supports you and helps you to make a difference in our communities.
We also know there are many thousands of social workers throughout the country (almost 100,000 according to Social Work England) who work tirelessly for their communities every day.
To those friends and colleagues – be they newly qualified social workers, heads of service, and at every level in between – we also want to send a huge Thank You.
For the last three years each and every one of you, every social worker, and the people and families you work with and support, have faced exceptional and unprecedented challenges.
These challenges have demanded new ways of working, new thinking, flexibility, and different solutions.
None of us were trained to work within and through a worldwide pandemic. You had to work so hard to respond, creating plans and strategies to support our communities, but at the same time you were affected.
You adapted, embraced the challenges, and worked flexibly and fluidly.
We know the pandemic and the other challenges we face continue to have an impact on our communities and on social workers.
But we want to acknowledge that what you, England’s social workers, have achieved in the last two plus years has made such a difference to people and families across the country.
To each and every one of you, Brighton & Hove City Council, and the country, say Thank You.
